Financial Aid For Evacuees

Lake George Wildfire Financial Support Update Friday, October 10, 2025. The Municipality of the County of Kings is cooperating with the Government of Nova Scotia to provide local cheque collection services for evacuees receiving provincial financial support.
Once cheques are prepared, applicants will be contacted to collect them at the Municipal Office in Coldbrook (181 Coldbrook Village Park Drive), with an expected availability date of October 17 or later.

2025-10-10 (Fri) Check Before You Burn Kings County: Non-Burn Day No burning allowed. During wildfire risk season (15 March to 31 October*), open fires including domestic brush burning and campfires are never allowed between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. After 2:00 pm, burn restrictions depend on weather conditions. Burn restrictions are updated daily at 2:00 pm, except when a provincewide burn ban is in place (municipal bylaws must be followed).
